About Us

In order to create such a successful approach to recovery, we have a large variety of counselors from many different modalities of recovery available at A Forever Recovery.  Some of our counselors have worked in 12-step programs, others Christian faith based treatment centers.  Others have gotten sober themselves through cognitive programs, while others practice their own brand of spirituality.  With a staff of Christians, 12-step recovering addicts, Buddhists, and Spiritual Teachers we feel that we can help our clients to find their own way. 

At A Forever Recovery, we have provided a recovering environment that is completely unique. Bringing together many different types of counselors, we hope to guide our clients into finding the recovery base that is best for them. Although not a complete listing, here is a sampling of some of our staff and their backgrounds.

Paul Lawson, LLBSW, MRT certified facilitator, Senior Case Manager - A member of the recovery community for over 10 years, Paul oversees our case management team as well as directly handling our Self-Help and Cognitive tracks.

Jan Deal, BS, Case Manager - A member of the recovery community herself, Jan practices her Christian faith in her recovery and oversees our Faith Based track. In additition to this Jan is a certified HIV Peer Educator and Case Manager with the Michigan Department of Community Health..

Steven Potter, Certified Personal Trainer - Steven oversees our fitness, sauna and nutritional department

Pamela Anderson, MBA, Executive Director - Knowing what it's like to have a family member addicted to drugs, Pamela now dedicates her life to helping others to overcome their addictions.

Although some programs find success in utilizing what is called a "social model" recovery system, or hiring staff members that are program graduates, A Forever Recovery is not a social model recovery system and hires most staff members from the addictions field. At A Forever Recovery, we have sought to bring together many different trained, licensed or certified recovering members of many different modalities that have a background in the addictions field.
